The Second CPWF international Forum on Water and Food (IWF2) will be held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from 9 to 14 November 2008. One of the major objectives of the Forum is to highlight the new knowledge generated during the first phase of the CPWF by our community of practice. In addition to keynotes from high profile scientists and policymakers, the Forum program will include presentations from selected CPWF projects, concurrent sessions on scientific topics, project posters, and basin sessions.At this point, we are inviting CPWF project researchers to submit papers for the concurrent science sessions. We are also asking CPWF project leaders for a project poster. The papers and posters will be reproduced in two publications to be distributed at the Forum.

The regional approach, under the leadership of the Consortium for the Sustainable Development of the Andean Ecoregion (CONDESAN), will generate water-related research and development by diverse stakeholders and agents of change. A major benefit expected from this cooperation is greater investment in rural areas resulting in reduced poverty. In particular, isolated and marginalized communities in upper watersheds have much to gain.
